Hong Kong athletes Michael Mak and Wu Siu Hong will head to Qatar in December to represent their country and compete amongst the world’s best bowlers at the World Singles Championship.  Mak and Siu Hong’s representation comes with little surprise after both athletes have had prominent victories on Asian bowling tours in 2015 and 2016.

Mak’s recent performances have seen him dominate at the Asian Bowling Championships earlier this year where he took home three gold medals from the Men’s Double, Men’s Trio and Men’s All Event rounds.  Together with his Championship Titles won at the ABF Tour Chinese Taipei and ABF Tour Hong Kong earlier this year, Mak is in fine form leading into the World Championship competition.

Hong, who won 2015’s QubicaAMF World Cup, is also looking promising having joined Mak in the Men’s Doubles at the Asian Bowling Championships to take home the gold medal.   Hong will look to the Championship to add to his list of achievements in 2016 after being named among five other Hong Kong nationals in 2016 to receive the prestigious Outstanding Young Persons Selection Award for achievement and inspiration to the community.  Hong was selected for the prestigious award in part for his determination in battling cancer to become a world-class athlete.

Both Mak and Hong are strong medal chances for the World Singles Championship and we look forward to seeing them take on the world’s best in Doha from December 2nd to 9th.

The World Singles Championship will take place in Doha, Qatar from December 2nd to 9th.  The event will be livestreamed on the World Bowling youtube and website.
