MEDALS FROM THE WORLD GAMES 2017 BOWLING WOMEN’S SINGLES EVENT ARE REISSUED IN CONJUNCTION WITH POSITIVE DOPING CASE

LAUSANNE, July 9 – Following a positive doping test at The World Games 2017 in Wroclaw, Poland, the medals for the Bowling Ten Pin Single’s Women Event have been awarded to the following athletes:

Gold Medal – Kelly Kulick (USA)
Silver Medal – Clara Guerrero (COL)
Bronze Medal – Daria Kovalova (UKR)

The original gold medal was awarded to Laura Beuthner of Germany but following an in competition doping test which took place following the medal ceremony in Wroclaw, where the athlete tested positive to the prohibited substance Hydrochlorothiazide (S5. Diuretics and Masking Agents) her medal has been revoked and the placings are to be awarded as stated above.

World Bowling provisionally suspended the German athlete in November 2017, World Bowling will conduct the final hearing on the doping occurrence with the athlete in the next month after which time a decision will be made as to any forward suspensions or penalties.
